For a traditional tank style unit, size is based on household size and peak demand — typically a 40-gallon unit for one to three people and a 50-gallon unit for three to five. For tankless, sizing is based on flow rate and temperature rise needed simultaneously. We'll assess your situation and recommend the right size — not the biggest unit we can sell you.
